NFL star Jared Allen sells Scottsdale mansion to KB Home CEO for $10.3M

Former NFL defensive end Jared Allen and his wife, Amy, sold their north Scottsdale mansion to KB Home CEO Jeffrey Mezger for $10.3 million.

The five-time Pro Bowl player built the 12,500-square-foot stone estate in DC Ranch’s posh Silverleaf enclave in 2013. He paid $1.05 million for the land.

The seven-bedroom, 12-bathroom house has a home theater, gym, multiple kitchens and laundry rooms, and a resort-style pool with a lazy river.

The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Allen in 2004. He then played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2008-13 before going to the Chicago Bears and then the Carolina Panthers. He announced his retirement in 2016.

Andrew Bloom of Keller Williams’ BVO Luxury Group had the listing and handled the sale.

The Allens moved to to Nashville, Tennessee.

In March, a group called Rimrock Properties paid a record $18.8 million in cash for a 21,000-square-foot mansion situated on 30 acres in Silverleaf, near Allen’s former house.

Allen and Mezger also have a connection beyond this house sale.

Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors foundation raises money to build and remodel houses that are handicap accessible for injured veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Los Angeles-based KB Home is one of the nation’s biggest home builders. Last week, Mezger and Bloom co-sponsored Allen’s annual charity golf tournament for the Wounded Warrior group at the Arizona Grand Resort.
